Interventional Radiology Training Programs in Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, India

Department Introduction:

The Interventional Radiology (IR) department at Max Super Speciality hospital Saket conducts a variety of procedures related to liver transplant, hepatology, gastroenterology, oncology, nephrology etc.  These include a wide variety of  basic and advanced interventions both non-vascular and vascular.

The Interventional Radiology department at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket is equipped with Bi-plane DSA unit, one fluoroscopy unit, two USG scanners and CT scanner. The department is fully digitized with Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS) which is integrated to the hospital information system (HIS) and CPRS.


Courses offered


The department offers 4 academic training programs all tailored to different needs and time durations.


  1. DrNB Interventional Radiology: This is a 3 year  course. The admission is based on entrance examination (NEET-SS). More details on  NBE website.
  2.  Fellowship Hepato-Biliary Interventional Radiology: The course offers one year training in all the interventional radiology procedures with special focus on Hepato-Biliary radiological interventions. Read more...

Course Objectives and activities

At the end of the course, the fellow students will be able to independently perform vascular and non-vascular procedures besides having acquired outstanding skills in patient selection, patient communication and counselling, pre and post procedure patient management and handling of complications.


Certification Details :

A certificate will be awarded after successful completion of the training program.


Eligibility Criteria:

MD Radiology or DNB Radiology or DMRD or equivalent.


The candidate should be registered with MCI/State Medical Council. For International Candidates MCI approval, Student visa, FRRO approval will be required as per regulations.
